ELEC - Year 4
Conner
Hi, my name is Connor and I am currently in my 4th year of engineering in the ELEC discipline. As far as academics go, some of my favourite courses that I’ve taken so far include the electromagnetism/maxwell’s laws courses (ELEC 211, ELEC 311), the courses that focus on power analysis (ELEC 201/202, ELEC 342), and the lab/project courses (ELEC 291, ELEC 391). I would be more than happy to try and help you with the courses I listed above, but if you have questions for other courses, I can probably answer those too!

Eve
Hi everyone! My name is Eve and I am one of your student council co-presidents. I spent 3 years on a submarine design team - one as a team lead - and am currently with the UBC Sailing Club helping with their fleet upkeep. As for work, I have 8 months of naval military co-op experience and 8 months of hydro design! Ask me about declaring a minor, how to get your first co-op, and anything about community building within the student council.

ELEC - Year 4
James
I'm a 4th-year Electrical Engineering student who has completed all required second and third year courses and am open to helping other students when I have spare time. Throughout the past two years, I occasionally helped tutor first years in the EUS tutoring sessions. Besides helping with studying, I also help advise lower years about potential course choices and degree plans. Ask me about course choices and potential degree plans or advice for determining which field(s) interest you in ELEC!

Seiya
I'm a 4th year ELEC student with Japanese-Ukrainian roots. Being your academically average student, I try to balance a typical course load with a social life. I'm always ready to share insights about the courses I've taken or how I juggle staying active - be it hitting the gym, playing sports, or planning ski trips - with my studies. I've taken several summer courses, including MATH 253 and 300, ELEC 291 and 391, BMEG 400A, and CPEN 481, and would be happy to share my experience. I can also share some of my experiences and tips for finding internships while not being a part of the co-op program. Having grown up in Germany, Japan, Ukraine, and the US, I can try to share some insight on language retention, travel planning, or the exchange program. Whether it's academic advice or general tips, feel free to reach out!
ELEC - Year 3
Youssef
Hello everyone! My name is Youssef and I'm a 3rd year ELEC student. I started ECE in 2021, so feel free to ask any course based questions in any 2nd or 3rd year classes. I can also help you with internships, from application checks to interview prep as well as questions about course planning. ECE is one of the most challenging programs at UBC, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
CPEN - Year 5
Declan
Howdy, I’m Declan and I am in my fifth and final year of Computer Engineering. Additionally, I am your ECESS VP External and one of your ECE Peer Advisors. I have co-op experience working on mobile development at a startup and machine learning research in a lab at UBC. Last year I had the privilege to study abroad at EPFL in Switzerland where I took masters level courses in Machine Learning, as well as courses in Quantum Computing and Database Management. At UBC I have taken a variety of courses including ELEC 221, CPEN 311, CPSC 314, CPSC 340, CPEN 411, and CPEN 455 (in addition to the CPEN degree requirements).
